The Olympics for Solidarity Studies is an innovative action regarding
development education as well as an efficient way to educate the
youth of the North to solidarity concepts .
The project was launched by a Spanish NGO named Coopera and was
organized for the first ime in 2003 in the city of Logrono (Northern
Spain)
The idea is quite easy : “ when you study ..you are cooperating...”
For each study hour in the scope of the Olympics (lasting 4 weeks)
, one euro will be paid by one of our partners to a development
project in the South.

The objective is to make the Youth realize that they can easily
contribute through their study efforts, rather than in a financial
way, to a development project for a more sustainable and equitable
world.
Through this original action, students show their solidarity
in an active way and they become actors of a positive evolution
in the humanitarian aid sector.
